At AGroup, we believe that great HR technology is built by great people. This series showcases the talented minds behind HRB Portal – the developers, consultants, and experts who bring our solutions to life.
By sharing their stories, we’re putting a human face to our software, building trust with our customers, and showing the passion that drives our innovation. It’s also a way to highlight our company culture and attract top talent who share our vision.
Please introduce yourself and share your role at AGroup?
My name is Alexander Korshunov, and I’m the CTO at AGroup. Over the past year, my primary focus has been on security and compliance — areas that have gained significant importance due to the introduction of new NIS2 and DORA regulations.
What excites you the most about working on HRB Portal?
We’re building something that people use every day, and that’s truly rewarding. Knowing that we’re making people’s lives just a little bit easier or better through our product — that means everything.
What are some of the biggest challenges you face in software development, and how do you overcome them?
We’ve built a sophisticated and highly flexible product that can adapt to almost any customer requirement and support HR and payroll processes of nearly any complexity. However, delivering on that bold promise isn’t easy — it takes consistency, discipline, and a deep commitment to excellence. Every day, we strive to become a better version of ourselves as a company — improving our product and services one step at a time.
Can you share a recent feature or improvement that the team has developed for HRB Portal?
In collaboration with our partner TrustLynx, we’ve integrated digital signature functionality directly into the HRB Portal. As part of a workflow, documents can now be generated and signed based on user roles — all within the portal itself, without the need to download or upload files to external platforms. This marks a major step forward in enabling fully paperless HR processes.
What’s one fun fact about your team/company/HRB Portal that people might not know?
Our very first office in 2008 was a converted three-bedroom apartment on Šarlotes Street — probably not a space ever intended for a software company! With all our desktops, laptops, and servers, we quickly exceeded the electrical capacity. If someone switched on a kettle or coffee machine, the circuit breaker would trip, and we had to reset it. It taught us one valuable habit early on: always save your work frequently!
