People Behind Software: Michal Kruk

Please introduce yourself and share your role at AGroup. 

My name is Michal. I’m Senior Consultant now in AGroup. My job is to provide customer support and solve various types of problems and errors, as well as implement various solutions to support the customer’s work. 

What excites you the most about working with HRB Portal? 

There are several reasons, but the most important one is probably self-development, I learn information needed for my work, then it results in fast customer support. Over these few years in AGroup my knowledge and skills have grown significantly and continue to grow! 

What are some of the biggest challenges you face in your role, and how do you overcome them?

I think the biggest challenge is understanding the client’s needs. The client often has a different vision than we think and it happens that we talk about two different issues. Therefore, a good key to overcoming this is to skillfully talk to the client and ask questions that will suggest a solution to me during the conversation. This applies to both reported problems and, in particular, new solutions that the client would like to have in their system. Developing a common vision with the client is 90% of correct action. 

What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on so far at AGroup? 

I can mention two that I will definitely remember. One due to its complexity, the other for personal reasons. The first is the implementation of the Portal for Ignitis Polska. It was a difficult implementation, because we had to adapt to the existing parameterisation (prepared for other countries), to their processes or additional structures. For personal reasons, I will definitely remember the implementation for one of our clients from Poland. During this implementation, I became a father, which meant that for a month or two I took care of the child, and while my son was sleeping I prepared the system for the client. It was quite an intensive time 🙂 

What’s one fun fact about your team/company/HRB Portal that people might not know?

We are not an ordinary company. Even though we live in different countries or cities – we are always close. We can always count on someone else’s help, you just have to ask. In addition, we have a great time in each other’s company, you can joke freely both during work and during our kick-offs, or also have a serious talk, also about personal problems. As I said at the beginning – we are not an ordinary company, we are AGroup!
